THE WORKSHOP
The program invites all levels of dancers to take part in this three-week intensive workshop, the only place Fagan technique is taught! In addition to studying the Fagan technique and learning repertory by Garth Fagan, students will have the opportunity to learn the art of movement invention through dance composition. Students will take four classes a day, five days a week. Additional classes include video talks, nutrition, and music appreciation. Students, besides being taught and mentored by company members on a daily basis, will have the opportunity to perform for a live audience at the end of the intensive. The Summer Movement Institute also strives to enhance the student's appreciation and understanding of dance through its relationship with art, theater, and music by providing guided field trips to dance and music concerts, plays and museums.
TUITION & FEES
All interested students must complete an application and send it with a nonrefundable application fee of $30. Tuition for the program is $1000. Tuition with accomodation (ROOM ONLY) is $1450. Students from the local area may commute to the program.
